designed and built with accessibility, maintainability, and other

Brian McCaffrey, PE
McCaffrey, P.E., is the Chief Engineer with the Modernization Project Office at
Brookhaven National Laboratory. Mr. McCaffrey is a registered Professional
Engineer in New York and Florida, and earned the Facility Management
Professional credential through IFMA.
McCaffrey’s career in engineering has taken him through all phases of the life
of a building: from pre-conceptual design and cost estimating; to design,
construction, and maintenance; and finally demolition.
Prior to Mr.
McCaffrey’s current position at BNL, he worked as a facilities engineer
responsible for the continued operation of mechanical and electrical systems in
over 250 buildings and structures at the Lab.
Prior to his employment at BNL, Mr. McCaffrey was a design professional
for a consulting firm and specialized in decommissioning & demolition of
facilities, structural design & analysis of building components,
mechanical and electrical systems, and civil / site layout.
